3rd Lunar Abyssite and more.

I got 2 more zone boss kills to get my 3rd lunar abyssite. (I need 1 more to have all abyssea bosses killed) My linkshell has been trying to make efforts to get all the pre-reqs for Shinryu done, which involve all zone boss kills, and all Caturae killed.(Currently 3/6).

I have mainly been helping others with kills and such mainly empy weapons. I got quite a few merits in the process and leveled my BRD to 88.

Managed to finish my DRK feet +1.


My next focus in abyssea is Bale hands, from one of the new zones. I hope I can get a +2 on my DRK head sometime soon, but patience is key.

After the update, there has been quite a bit of exploring. It was found that after beating 7 abyssea zone bosses you get a 3rd Lunar Abyssite. That was my LS's main focus. We knocked out more then half of them, but alas I still only have 6 bosses killed. NEED 1 more!!!

I picked up these in the process of doing bosses, will be using these instead of Homam for TP now.



I am still trying as hard as possible to get my 25 ares body from salvage. To no avail. 9 Months in waiting now.

I have also been trying to finish my DRK feet seals. Also to no avail. Still sitting at 3/8. I did however get 2 jewels (while doing bosses) for the +2 upgrade so I am 2/6 on the +2.

Still waiting on coin distrobution list for dyanamis coins.

Decent progress.

First of all I joined a new LS. Seems to be primarily abyssea LS, which is all fine and dandy with me. Since joining up with them I have made alot of progress.

This was the big piece I obtained:



And here I thought I would never have to update my B.Haidate. I got all my seals and jewels with this new LS.

I also got 1 of the BRD leg seals, BRD af3 feet, DRK af3 feet, and got 3 DRK feet seals via questing.

I got several Atmas. Most not useful to me, but a few are a pretty big improvement from what I had. Gnarled Horn, Deep Devourer, Stormbird, and Untouched.

I have had alot of fun in this group. I will say the funnest part of being in this LS is how active they are. Usually always something to do.

I am really anxious for the update tomorrow. Hopefully since I have a LS this update, I will get to do some stuff as soon as it releases.

Dynamis: My shell is going to 1 day a week. This really isnt good news for me. we are a saturday only shell now. DRP was finally updated, so now I have to wait on the leads to do coin distribution before I know how many bynes i need to buy, or not buy from bazaar to finish stage 4. I actually had all of them bought because I was tired of waiting for progress to be made on the book keeping end, but I sold some when DRP was posted. But we will see....

Welp I am back...

I have capped exp on DRK/WAR/MNK/BRD.
I have also exped my SAM to 49 as well as my WHM to 42.

I have been exping and making gil solely pretty much.

I have managed to get 4374/6200 byne bills I need to finish stage 4. I bought my Attestation yesterday because that seemed like the only way I would get it in a reasonable time frame, since my dynamis shell doesnt seem worried about it at all. I am going to chill on buying any more bynes until DRP and coin distribution is done. (yes I am STILL waiting on my shell to do bookkeeping, dont know why 5-6 months behind is acceptable, good thing im easy going)

Usukane Sune-Ate

Last night we were having problems getting pick ups for Salvage, so we decided to go after my level 15 Usu feet piece. Its a sucky run because you cant do much else if you want to farm the lvl 4 madame for the 100% drop.

Alas, thats what we did and I got this.



I then promptly turned in my items for this!




My Dynamis leader mentioned farming my Attestation here soon for my scythe. I think I am going to put an emphasis on farming again so I can finish my scythe's stage 4 asap, since I cant seem to sell a damn thing.

Dinged 80 on MNK and 76 on DRK.

I got another Campaign rank up, so I am only 1 shy of having campaign top rank. (whoopty do)

Exping post update

I have made it my primary goal to exp to get my Monk to 80. I have managed to get 7k tnl to 78. It is next to impossible to get exp via pick up or find a camp it seems. All my exping has pretty much been solo. I also managed to get my BRD to 76 as well as Cmdrfly's NIN and WHM to 76.

That puts me at only needing 35 Ares Head/35 Ares Legs/25 Ares Body to be 5/5 Ares.

I also picked up this FINALLY!



Now to get that pain in the ass lvl 15 piece to complete that beautiful piece.

Dinking around I got my Dancer to 35. I mainly did this so I can campaign a little more efficient.

Speaking of campaign I obtained the Moonlight Medal. Been doing alot more campaign now that I am trying to level up.

I have still yet to do any of the new content. Hopefully by the next time I post I will have somthing to say about it.

I also bought another big chunk of Byne Bills. I am pretty much at the point that I can obtain stage 4 Scythe once I get the Attestation. I am just kinda waiting in limbo to figure out what I am going to do though. The longer I wait the more bills I will have access to with in LS which means cheaper.

RL hits me hard

I ended up buying a house while in the middle of a renovation on the condo so I have been very busy in RL. I havent done much in game besides make money and Dynamis.

I picked these up because I got a good deal on them.

Sub Job Exping.

People in my salvage group have kind of been taking a break to level thier sub jobs. I manged to get my BLM to 24, NIN to 49, PUP to 21, and SAM to 40. My PUP and BLM were just used as syncs on SMN burn parties.

It seems lot of people have lost motivation for Salvage. I however, have not. I am thinking about starting a group to run. I dont really want to, but I dont know any other way to make it so I can make a salvage schedule.

I also merited a little bit. I got my next Counter upgrade.

I purposly havent been making much gil. I have taken a short break before I make my final push to finish my stage 4 scythe. If I buy all my coins from LS, I have more then enough gil by about 3-4 mill. I will probably buy as many as I can from bazaar after I can get my attestation.

I am making a big push buy Aurum Sabotans so I can put together the build I want. I had a seller, but that fell though. I am going to keep looking.

Buying the marbles for Mog Bonanza ended today, so I will hope I get somthing higher then rank 5 for once.

I am now 2/3 on ares legs. The Marduk hands 15 piece was just a little extra I would only upgrade for the hell of it.

I had a horrible HQ session on Melody earrings. Lost around 700k. Making gil has been rough the past 3-4 weeks. I am hoping this is just a down time. I got a couple little bonuses with winning lot on a 100 coin in dynamis and getting utsusemi:ni to drop on the PCC BCNM.

I leveled Synergy 3 levels trying to make an Ire Torque solo.

I exped Dancer to 30 so I could try out this Curing Waltz 2 as a sub.

I got White Mage to 39 via campaign ops. Which also got me my next medal upgrade. I am still only the first medal.

Other then those things, all I have been doing is Dyanmis/Salvage/Farming.

I have been trying to see if I could work this into a build or not on my DRK, but I just cant find anywhere it would be immediately helpful until I get full ares. I think it would beat out Hecatomb Gloves for Raging Rush and Steel Cyclone on WAR but I havent touched WAR in about a year I am guessing.

Other then that, I dont have much else on news. Been making gil. I did buy another 1000 byne bills so I am up to 2300. I am almost halfway done and I havent got any bynes from my dynamis LS yet. Pretty awesome progress I must say. Hopefully Motley updates DRP soon so I will officially have enough DRP to start getting some coinage and maybe talk the LS into getting my attension.

Salvage Progress.

Rather exciting I am finally close to obtaining my first Salvage piece. I just need the 15 piece from ZR. We usually spend time doing 3 35 NMs which usually cuts us too close on time to kill boss. But alas, we killed boss finally. I havent killed this boss before so its something else I can mark off my list.

I havent done much else; I made quite a bit of gil, actually last week was the most gil I have ever made in a weeks time ever in FFXI. I am guessing if I can pick up my Attension of Vigor I am on track to have Bec de Faucon in about 2 months. So lets hope I continue to make gil like I have to expedite it!!!

More Salvage Luck.

Welp, my luck has changed in Salvage. Last week I got 35 Ares hands, and Yesterday, I got this beauty.



I now have the 35 piece of 2 of my top 3 salvage pieces I want. This was super exciting to me. I want to upgrade the Usukane Sune-ate asap because it would be one of the usu pieces that would be an upgrade w/o the full set. I am going to see what I can do to get the 15 and 25 piece asap.

Motley recieved his Fragment for Bravura on Saturday. This was exciting because he is really close to finishing Bravura. I think he has enough short term loans (for the last 3000 coins that you end up getting back) to finish in the next day or so. Though I know its not really an achievement for me, myself, the gil from the last time I quit helped him achieve that goal alot faster which makes me feel awesome. Nothing better then helping a buddy accomplish a huge goal like that.

So hopefully soon I will be able to publish a picture of Motley with his brand new Bravura.

Made some killer gil this week, almost 3mill. I am about 2-3 weeks away from having enough gil buffer that I will start buying Byne Bills with all the extra gill I can and hopefully I will have enough DRP to start getting coins from LS. I should be really close.

Salvage rewards me again...

I had recently decided to change my targets for Salvage. This was because I have been doing alot of research on the Catastrophe WS and trying to see what would be the best WS setup. After all the reading, I can say 1 thing, what I thought would be best for the WS is not what I expected. Alot of people are preaching the full Ares for WS. It seems Double Attack is the only thing that seems to really bump up your damage.

Soooooo. In light of that I decided to not try and work towards full Usukane yet, and make strides towards full Ares.

So last night we did Bhaflau, and instead I went for Ares Hands and....



I was pretty stoked. Especially after losing the lot on the 35 Ares Legs last week which had me bummed.

The upgraded hands by themselves are pretty "meh" but hey this is 1 step closer to full ares.

The other big thing that I did was I bought 1200 bynes. So I am now at 1711/6200 byne bills.

I will be continuing making gil and doing salvage!! FUN FUN FUN.

Though its been almost 2 weeks since the last post, I really dont have much to report.

I did beat the new Odin. Man, what a chump. Nice reward though.



New item for my Monk and Warrior if I were ever to even use WAR.

Just been making money and salvaging with a side of Dynamis. My buddy Motley is about 1000 Bynes away from completing Bravura. So by the time I get enough DRP in Dynamis I should be the lone one upgrading that needs Bynes. Hopefully in the next 3-4 days I will have a nice update on my Apocalypse progression.

Started salvaging everyday again. Its been fun, not much for drops for myself but at least we are working agin.

Not a whole lot

Well I havent been playing much. Long story short, its because of the NCAA basketball tournament. This past weekend there has been lots of stuff going on it being the final four. Living in Indianapolis whith Butler going to the final game when the Final Four is in Indianapolis has been quite an experience.

Even with the lack of me being around in game, I still managed to farm enough to keep my minimum goal of 1 mil a week. I am now up to 14 mil, at 7k a piece thats about 1/3rd of stage 4 relic. If I keep making gil like I have I am guessing 6 months and I could have a self funded stage 4 relic.

Only immediate goals are to beat Odin and continue making gil.

Goldsmith's Smock and some Synergy action.

So I took some time off from making gil and took that time to skill up Synergy. Its an incredibly boring skill up process, but very quick compared to regular crafting.

Over the past 2 weeks I have managed to ding 50 Synergy. Though with the update last week the cap was raised to 60, I am pretty happy with 50 for right now. In the process of skilling up I made my Goldsmith's Smock. FFXI WIKI doesnt have a pic of it but its pretty much an upgrade to the Goldsmith's Apron but with -25% synergy damage. Im not really into doing synergy synthes, I just figured I would level it because I have a feeling that synergy is the way of the future for updates to come.

I havent Salvaged in 2 weeks. The guy that leads the group I been going with has been away. So I havent got much Salavage action.

I hit my goal of getting enough gil together to purchase my ingots for Ares Curiass. However I changed my mind on actually going through with it. I am just going to continue to save gil and put it towards Apocolypse. At 6k per, that means I have 1/3rd the gil I need for stage 4. Hopefully I will get enough DRP points to start buying coins from my LS for almost half the price. I decided this because I have played DRK only 1 time and WAR, PLD zero since coming back. But knowing me, I will change my mind once I get my hands on the 25, 15 pieces for ares.

Nabbed a goodie for my alt.

Those that know me know that I have an alternate character. It has 75 WHM WAR NIN. I have gradually got things for it over time and even exped some on it. I picked up a nice piece of gear for it in Dynamis Tuesday.



I have really wanted this piece for Cmdrfly for a long ass time. One of these days I may seriously gear him up, but not anytime soon. For now at least I have a ra/ex piece of gear that can auto refresh for when I am PLing myself.

I also picked this up for my Paladin.



Too bad its not a piece I would use with any frequency even if I played PLD at a dcent rate anyways. As far as I am concerned, I am 1 piece away from storing the PLD Valor set.

I also had quite a shitty synthe session yesterday. 0/20 on Triumph Earrings. I was about to admit defeat when I said I would do just 1 more. I then finally popped out a Triumph Earring, a big sigh or relief, but I stil lost money. So my record on this synthe sice I came back to the game is 1/21. BOOOOOOOOO.

I hope to do more salvage this up coming week. I am getting close to being able to buy my Imperial Wootz Ingots for my Ares Curiass!!

A couple small things.

Its been a pretty uneventful week and a half. I got a couple pieces not really worth mentioning but I am going to do it anyways!

I got this via freelot. 1 step closer to storing my Valor gear.



This now completes all the 25 pieces I need from Arrapago.




I didnt do any exping last week but I did get 3 merits last night when I broke out my BRD for the first time since being back.

I managed to make 2.3 mill last week. I am about 3-5 mill away from having enough gil to fund my Ares Curiass. I doubt I will be able to replicate the week I had last week on a regular basis, but I am going to try! Really it just depends on how many elemental ore I can get my hands on.

I played around with synergy and managed to get it to lvl 10. Its really a boring process but I want to make some Goldsmithing Cuffs and a Goldsmithing Smock.

Anyways goals for the upcoming week:

1: I need 15k exp to get my 3rd STR upgrade.
2: Level Synergy to lvl 20.
3: And of course make some gil!!

Deimos's Cuirass

Pretty much all I do in FFXI is make money/Dynamis/Salvage with a little bit of outside EXPing when I am bored. I won lot on this over 2 other people yesterday.



Man what a rush it was getting this piece. Ares Body and Ares Cuisses are my 2 most wanted pieces for salvage. This is the lvl 35 piece for the Body. This is the most difficult piece to get for the body. This excites me because this gives me something to work towards that isnt relic. I will still need the 15 piece and the 25 piece to upgrade let alone the around 15mil you need in gil. I am sitting at around 5-6mil. I been making about 1.5mil a week so I am guessing at least a month to save up the gil I need.

Salvage and Money making.

Did a couple salvage runs this past week. Nice to get back into doing somthing other then farming. Had pretty decent runs both times. Didnt kill bosses either time but farmed alot of NMs for 35s. First run we got a Machas Coat. Second run we got a Machas Crown and Freyas Ledelsons. The feet piece completed a set for Dalkiel.
Nothing for me, but fun none the less. 0/4 on the 35 piece for Ares Body .

I have enough money to buy all the gear I need to flush out DRK and BRD (with exception of HQ staves and buying Kirins Osode back)

Dinged 43 on Ninja. Been duoing with Motley's Monk. Been alot of fun.

Got 135 Guard on Monk.

Almost ready to actually do stuff.

I havent done a whole lot but make money. I did join a Dynamis LS. They sell relic upgraders currency for a discount. I figure if I come back to the game, I may as well finish up my previous goals.

I have made a decent amount of gil since my coming back. I have also spent a decent amount of gil. My first major purchase after coming back is a Peacock Charm. I also bought an Amement Mantle+1 and Tiphia Sting. With these 3 items my Monk is almost back to its previous glory.(ill upgrade to a Foragers mantle after I take care of a few other things)

I am pretty much borrowing Motley's Kirin's Osode indefinately until I can rebuy my osode again. My BRD was pretty much left in tact except for that, HQ staves, and Marys horn. I do not think I will buy HQ staves anytime soon since I am not doing end game right now.

My Dark Knight is hurting pretty bad right now. I hope to not bring it out until its back to normal. Biggest pieces are the Hauberk+1 and Fire Bomblet.

Gil for some reason seems even easier to come by this time around. I hope this continues. If I continue making 200k-300k a day, I will be caught back up in no time.

Goals for this week:

Buy Black Cuisses, Mary's Horn, Bugard Leather Strap +1, and Fire Bomblet
That should make my BRD usable again and get my DRK pretty close.

Annnnnd I am back.

Its been awhile since I posted because I quit the game and gave my account to my buddy Motley. I told him he could liquidate everything to help him finish up his Bravura. After working on alot of RL consulting work its come to a close and I found myself very bored in the evenings. I then decided to come back to the game to finish off my 2 main goals in the game; 1) 100 GS (1.0 away) 2) Apocolypse. Finishing off my GS isnt that difficult of a task, it just requires throwing away money and I would rather not do that.

Right now I am concentrating on making gil and was thinking about joining a dynamis shell. My MNK is the only job that is good to go really so I wont be doing much on any other job for now. The only gear I need to purchase to get it back to where it was was a Foragers Mantle/PCC/Tiphia Sting. These shouldnt be much of a problem.
